YAMAHA FJ1200 SIDECAR RIG
1986 Yamaha FJ1200 with Vetter Terraplane sidecar. One of a kind custom built high performance outfit. The bike is in excellent original condition with only 22,200 miles on the odometer. Completed in the spring of 2000. It includes lots of custom hardware including one of a kind custom built front forks with sliders CNC machined from solid billets of 6061 T6 aluminum.
The front wheel hub, rear wheel hub and sidecar wheel hub are custom machined from solid billets of 6061 T6 aluminum.
175/60-14 Brigestone RE92 Potenza tires on automotive rims front and rear.
Sidecar tire is a 135/15 mounted on a modified automotive alloy wheel.
Sidecar brake is connected to the rear brake through an adjustable proportioning valve.
A very unique and effective custom built swaybar.
Sidecar is attach to the bike with 6 struts using various custom built pieces.
Front brakes have been upgraded from the original 2 piston caliper to 4 piston calipers with high metallic pads all around.
Steering damper
The best way to describe the handling is to think of it as a 3 wheeled slot car.
